Getting the Hang of Blogging

It took a little while to find out how to put in a new entry without losing the older ones. It seems easy now. Here are some of my fondest memories of visiting Italy.

A view from our hotel in Sant'allessio Siculo ( Sicily). We were looking for inexpensive lodging not to far rrom Taoromina, and happened upon the little town of Sant'allessio Siculo. This view is from the Hotel Kennedy, and wonderful place with free parking, beach, pool, and walking distance to ristoranti..Total for two day incljuding breakfast was $185US. The owner had spent a lot of time in the New York area and has relartive there.

There were many sight to see within a quick drive from the hotel and it was about 1/2 hour from Taoromina. I highly recomend it. There is a small town know as Savoca, up on a winding road about 20 minutes from town. It is as scenic as can be with lots of places for strolling and many dining oppertunities. More on this later.

Sunday In New York

Last year at the Architectural Magazine Home Design Show, I came across the manufacturer of the stove I would like to have.

ILVE’s modern manufacturing facility, located near historic and timeless Venice (in Campodarsego), represents more than 50 years of tradition (established in 1952), continuous technological research, and relentless innovation. With each oven hand-assembled by a single master craftsman from the finest materials, every piece is a work of culinary art.

Palazzo AbatellisPalermo

While we were staying in a B&B in Palermo, we met a young woman at breakfast and found she was doing art restoration in the Palazzo Abatellis. Lorenza D'Allesandro lives in Rome and has been working on restorations in Palermo. Here is some of what she has been working on.
